Columbia University and the Marxists

More on the sad condition of education in this country below.

I have written about this before, but repetition does no harm to the truth, in fact, it should reinforce it. The Frankfurt School, originally from Frankfurt, Germany, was the birthplace of what we refer to as cultural Marxism, a brand of Marxism that took that plague upon humanity to a whole new level.

An article on https://www.zerohedge.com on 8/12/16 noted some of this. It stated: “In 1930, the school changed course under new director Max Horkheimer. The team began mixing the ideas of Sigmund Freud with those of Marx, and cultural Marxism was born. In classical Marxism, the workers of the world were oppressed by the ruling classes. The new theory was that everyone in society was psychologically oppressed by the institutions of Western culture. The school concluded that this new focus would need new vanguards to spur the change. The workers were not able to rise up on their own.”

That commentary should give you some idea of where this was all headed.  The article continued: “As fate would have it, the National Socialists came to power in Germany in 1933. It was a bad time and place to be a Jewish Marxist, as most of the school’s faculty was. So, the school moved to New York City, the bastion of Western culture at the time. In 1934, the school was reborn at Columbia University. Its members began to exert their ideas on American culture. It was at Columbia University that the school honed the tool it would use to destroy Western culture, the printed word. The school published a lot of popular material. The first of these was Critical Theory. Critical Theory is a play on semantics. The theory was simple: criticize every pillar of Western culture–family, democracy, common law, freedom of speech, and others. The hope was that these pillars would crumble under the pressure.”

There was a lot more in the Zero Hedge article I won’t try to go into here, except to note one final observation. “The Frankfurt School’s work had a deep impact on American culture.  It has recast the homogenous America of the 1950s into today’s divided, animosity-filled nation. In turn, this has contributed to the undeniable breakdown of the family unit, as well as identity politics, radical feminism, and racial polarization in America.” All brought to you by the Frankfurt School, operating out of Columbia University! That fact alone should tell you where Columbia University was, and is, coming from. I think committing your sons and daughters to that institution will end up returning to you children you do not even know or recognize.

Is anyone naïve enough to think that Columbia University invited the Marxist Frankfurt School to come and make use of its facilities in ignorance of what the Frankfurt School stood for or was all about? Don’t kid yourselves.

In their book Crimes of the Educators, Sam Blumenfeld and Alex Newman noted, on page 3, that “In reality, (John) Dewey’s plan was to impose on America a form of cultural genocide never before imposed on any nation. The way to do it was to disparage high literacy and teach children to read by a method that would prevent them from achieving the kind of high personal literacy needed to develop their independent intelligence.  Dewey was joined in this endeavor by a new breed of ‘progressive’ educator who came on the scene around the turn of the twentieth century. They were members of the Protestant academic elite, concentrated mainly at Teacher’s College, Columbia University, who no longer believed in the religion of their fathers even though many of them came from good Christian families…Control of human behavior was one of their chief goals.” In other words, these people were apostates who denied the faith of their fathers and operated out of Columbia University.

You can see why, in this type of atmosphere, the Frankfurt School, with its Jewish, Marxist professors, thrived as they made their contributions to the downfall of America.

Recently I read another article about Columbia University on https://needtoknow.news the title of which was Columbia Professor from Romania Left His Tenured Position Because the University Is ‘On Its Way to Full Blown Communism’.  The article observed that: “A Romanian-born academic says he recently left his tenured position at Columbia University because the Ivy League school is ‘on its way toward full blown communism.’ according to a Romanian TV interview translated by a Romanian-American immigrant.  Prof. Andrei Serban, an award-winning director, complained about the increasing social justice demands he faced in the theater department in the interview, which aired on Romania’s TVR1 Oct 26. One prominent example he gave: pressure to admit a transgender applicant who auditioned as Juliet from ‘Romeo and Juliet.’  Andy Ionescu, a native Romanian speaker who immigrated to the United States in 1999, told The College Fix in a Twitter message that he translated the interview. He said it was likely the first time that Serban made his resignation publicly known. Columbia still lists Serban as an active professor…The TV host expresses incredulity at multiple points in the interview, seemingly shocked that the American higher education system is headed toward communism. Serban fled from the ideology, which ruled Romania for much of the 20th century. Serban says in the interview that after a faculty member retired, the remaining professors in the department were called into a meeting to discuss a replacement. It was at this meeting that the dean of the art school told them that there were ‘too many white professors, too many heterosexual men,’ and that it would be best to hire a minority or a woman, or a gay man.”

So let’s don’t kid ourselves here. Columbia University is not, just now, heading toward “full blown communism.” It has been headed in that direction for at least eight decades and maybe longer.

And what about the rest of the Ivy League? Certainly, the other Ivy League schools are not about to let Columbia outdistance them in the fiery academic race to embrace Marxist ideology in whatever form it rears its ugly head. In fact, if you read some of the stuff I’ve been reading for years now you realize that some form of communism is alive and well on most college campuses in this country–and not only on college campuses, but on high school campuses as well. Anyone who thinks this is not true just hasn’t been paying attention.

Fox News commentator, Tucker Carlson, in a commentary on November 10th, noted the following, as pointed out in an article on https://needtoknow.news “The left has abandoned education in favor of political propaganda under a program called Deep Equity that essentially trains teachers to become activists, pitting groups against each other through a hierarchy of oppression. Tucker says the program instructs that men oppress women, Christianity oppresses Islam, English oppresses Spanish, and white people oppress everyone.  Author Heather MacDonald says that the more schools become politicized, the further the decline in basic skills.” She recommends home schooling children and says there is an emergency in the educational system. That’s putting it mildly. There has been an “emergency” in the public education system since the 1830s!

Concerned parents, especially Christian parents, need to realize that that had better get their kids out of these Marxist brain laundries we call public schools before they lose them altogether. I realize that I have said this over and over for years. I sometimes wonder if anyone out there is listening. Christians continue to feed their kids into the fires of this public education Moloch  and then wonder why they have problems with them. I have often said that Christians need to wake up and smell the coffee. I am beginning to wonder if the coffee will all be boiled away before they ever wake up!
