Reading through Peter Schweizer’s book “Red Handed” is enough to give any patriotic American the heebie-jeebies–especially when you look at the support for the Communist Regime in China by those people we have been foolish enough as a country to send to Washington to represent us. The question arises–who are these congresspersons really representing? It sure ain’t “we the people.”

Schweizer points out several in Congress who seem more interested in the future welfare of Communist China than they do in our own.

Regarding Diane Feinstein he wrote: “Senator Feinstein and others in senior positions on Capitol Hill have profited greatly from the financial largesse of Beijing. Along the way they have pursued policies beneficial to the regime and verbally supported some of its most brutal actions. Some have even advocated on behalf of military-linked companies for the right price…Feinstein admits to having a soft spot for China…To be more specific, she has a soft spot for the Chinese communist regime. She has claimed that in some respects China is more democratic than the United States.” She has to be kidding, right? Well, actually she is quite serious! Her husband, Richard Blum “…would establish a myriad of firms and partnerships that would do enormous amounts of business with China,”

During her early time in Congree Nancy Pelosi was quite critical of China, but as with many in Washington, her views tended to “moderate” over time, which is a nice way of saying she moved to the left. People close to her noticed this shift as early as 2009. Schweizer observed that: “Her husband and son started seeking and securing deals on mainland China. Husband Paul became a partner investor in Matthews International Capital Management, a pioneer in the Chinese investment market.”

All this is not to leave the Republicans out. Schweizer notes that: “In 1993, months after Senator Mitch McConnell and his wife, Elaine Chao were married, the senator from Kentucky found himself in Beijing. But this was no typical honeymoon. He was traveling with his new wife and father-in-law James Chao and they had a series of private meetings with senior Chinese officials including Chinese president Jiang Zemin. Jiang and Chao had been classmates in China decades earlier….According to the Chinese government media, McConnell and the Chao family ‘arrived in Beijing at the invitation of the Chinese State Shipbuilding Corporation. That massive government-owned entity would play a central role in the rise of the McConnell-Chao family fortunes.” Schweizer goes into much more than I can here, but you get the picture.

What we have here is a bipartisan sellout by some in Congress to our communist enemies in China, while getting fabulously wealthy in the process. If this were not so sickening it would be–well, what else can I say??? By all means get Schweizer’s book and find out all this stuff for yourself. Don’t just take my word for it. All I have done is scratch the tip of the iceberg.
