Lest we forget, we are now into April, which is Confederate History Month and so it is a good time to remind all Confederates, north and south, of what the radical leftists want to do to us and how hard they are working at it while many of us slumber on in ambivalence.

In recent years they have torn down our monuments and managed to get most of our flags removed, aided by gutless politicians all too willing to do anything that will enhance their political agendas–which consist mostly of getting themselves re-elected–again and again. They literally sell their souls to the devil as the price of another term in office.

Yet for all that, Southern patriots are still here and they are defending our heritage and our history. As I have said many times in the past, average folks around the country mostly have no problems with us celebrating our history and heritage. It is the ultra-liberals, socialists, and communists (but I repeat myself here) who froth at the mouth and gnash their teeth when Southern heritage, history, and culture are celebrated. That fact should tell you something. Those whom the political and theological leftists hate must be doing something right!

Their faux-history books tell you the South only seceded and fought the War for Southern Independence so she could keep her slaves. They tell you the North fought a noble war to free Southern slaves. You are supposed to believe that and never question it. To question that pseudo-fact is to get yourself branded as a hopeless reactionary. Yet there is a plethora of material out there that shoots the leftist version of history full of holes for those who will take the trouble to do a little research.

On the slavery issue you can read Donnie Kennedy’s book Myths of American Slavery or Gene Kizer Jr’s book Slavery was not the Cause of the War Between the States or Lochlainn Seabrook’s Everything They Told You About the Civil War is Wrong. All these deal with the slavery issue and other things as well for those who want to do the homework. And these are only a few of the many resources available. However, they are a good start.

The point here is that you have been lied to as to the reasons for the War for Southern Independence. The left can’t deal with Southern culture in our day unless it lies to us about Southern history and heritage. And to the leftists any deliberate lie that furthers their cause is a righteous act. There are those out there that continue to expose the lies the leftists tell about us and we should do whatever we can to aid them in this endeavor. The leftists need to be exposed for the liars and historical frauds they are.

April 9th is the anniversary of General Lee’s surrender at Appomattox, a day we should all remember and reflect on. It was the beginning of the loss of self-government in this country and it led, through various stages, to where we find ourselves today. “Reconstruction” loomed large in the South (and the rest of the country as well, but they didn’t realize that yet). Some still don’t, and some never will. Others do realize and have learned to seek the Lord’s guidance as to where we go from here–something we all need to do.
