Revised History – Those “Uncouth” Homeschoolers PDF
Someone sent me an article last evening (5/18) from https://thepoliticalinsider.com which I will quote from here because it shows that the homeschool movement is making enough progress that it is starting to distress the leftist mavens of public education.
The article said: “I’m afraid to inform you that our betters have decided, homeschooling is racist. So says the latest missive from MSNBC. The far-left outlet tweeted an op-ed written by Anthea Butler that warns that homeschooling is merely a conduit to ‘dismantle the public school system’ being carried out by uncouth Christians who, of course, you guessed it, are racist. The warning comes on the heels of conservative Christian actor Kirk Cameron’s announcement of his documentary ‘The Homeschool Awakening’.”
So there you have it, the “official” word from on high–homeschooling is now racist and all you good Christian folk that dare to engage in it are “uncouth”–the off-scourings of society. So, in order to get back into the good graces of the leftist public-school indoctrinators you need to renounce your uncouthness and put your kids back in their brain laundries! To quote the old lady in the movie Outlaw Josey Wales “I say all that talk is nothing but doodly-squat.” Has it occurred to you that everybody and everything the leftists don’t like is automatically “racist”? That’s their one fallback position when they can’t argue facts about any situation. They automatically shout, “It’s racist” and that is supposed to shut down all debate or opposition to whatever the Left wants. But that’s an old game and it won’t work anymore. The Left has overused it. They need to come up with a new catch phrase to describe their adversaries.
You have to look at one thing here. Obviously the homeschool movement is growing and that is making inroads in public school attendance and the educrats are seeing fewer federal dollars for their decaying public school system and that bothers them no end. You see, in the final analysis, it isn’t really about education–it’s about those federal bucks they get when the classrooms are full vs. less federal dollars if the classroom is one third empty.
I’ve known lots of homeschoolers over the years, my wife and I used to be in those uncouth ranks. None of the homeschoolers I’ve known were out to “destroy” the public school system. All they wanted to do was to get their kids out of that so-called educational system before it destroyed their kids!
And when you look at the spiritual garbage public education is now dishing out to kids, who, in their right minds, wants their kids exposed to such tripe? Do you want your kids going to school every day and changing their clothes in transgender closets or being exposed to teachers who are pushing “Queer theology?” If you do, then you have a problem. And the problem isn’t that I am an uncouth Christian because I homeschooled my kids. Your problem goes much deeper than that.
I also read an article recently that noted the rising number of black families that are now homeschooling their kids. Are they all “uncouth racists” too? Or are they, in reality, starting to wake up and understand the spiritual wasteland that public education has become and they don’t want that for their kids any more than white folks do. I fail to see the “racism” in all that, but then I am far removed from the leftist milieu and so maybe I’m just too uncouth to grasp it.
My wife and I homeschooled our kids, along with their going to Christian schools. They never spent day one in a public brain laundry–for which I thank the Lord–and if all that makes us “uncouth racists” then I am more than happy to plead guilty to that charge. May the Lord give us more uncouth Christians to fill the ranks of homeschoolers!
